Holiday Town Police Look Into Worker Claims

Ayia Napa is a nice place for holidays. It is in Cyprus. Many young people from Britain go there for work and fun. But now, police are looking into bad things. Some young workers say they were treated badly.

A new TV show helped start this. The show is called "Untold: Undercover Working Holidays." A reporter worked there. She saw how some managers were not good. Some managers asked for sex to give jobs. One manager asked for a sex act. Other workers were touched badly.

The workers also had bad homes. Their rooms were small and dirty. They did not have enough water. The rooms had mould and bugs. They paid a lot of money for rent. This meant they had no money left. Some workers did not have the right papers. Some were asked to sell bad gas.

Police in Cyprus are checking the story. They saw the TV show. They want to see if laws were broken. They might work with groups in the UK. These groups help people find work and homes.

Other holiday places had similar problems. Police want to find bad companies. They want to make homes better for workers. This is a very important check.
