US Lets Nvidia Sell Some AI Chips to China

The United States will let Nvidia sell some AI chips to China. This is a big change for technology trade. The US Department of Commerce said this. It allows Nvidia's H200 AI chip to be sold. This chip is strong, but not the strongest.

Before, these chips could not go to China. The US wanted to slow China's military and tech growth. China must show it will use the chips for people. It must also promise not to use them for the military. The US will only sell if there are enough chips for the US. This is a balance between business and safety.

This happens as countries want AI power. Nvidia had problems because of US and China trade issues. The US first stopped sales to help China's tech and military. This new approval is a small change. Nvidia's newest chip, the Blackwell processor, still cannot be sold in China.

This change could help AI grow in China. Chinese AI systems might get better and cost less. Experts think this means more AI company competition. Nigel Green, a CEO, said this change helps AI grow faster. He thinks investors everywhere will notice.

Canada also wants a better relationship with China. Prime Minister Mark Carney is visiting China. Things were hard after China held two Canadians. Canada wants to sell more things to China. China says trade and tech should not be for politics. This shows how tech, trade, and country ties change global AI.
