Cyprus Government Changes Building Rules

The government in Cyprus wants to change the rules for the building industry. The President, Nikos Christodoulides, announced new plans. He said the changes will help the economy and make it easier to build houses. The government also wants to lower a tax for building from 17% to 5%.

At the same time, worker unions are asking for a big increase in the minimum wage. A workers' group called PEO says that the economy is doing well, but normal workers are not getting enough money. They say that wages need to go up by about 28% because the country is richer and workers are more productive.

So, the government wants to help businesses with new rules and lower taxes. But the unions want higher wages for workers. This is a problem because higher wages mean higher costs for businesses. What happens next is very important for the future of jobs and money in Cyprus.
