Recently, many Airbus A320 planes around the world had to get a quick, important update. This happened because engineers found a problem. They learned that radiation from the sun could affect the planes' computers. This might cause the computers to show the wrong altitude.
This safety issue started after a JetBlue flight had to make an emergency landing last October. An investigation found that solar particles caused the problem. Because of this, safety officials told airlines to fix their planes before flying them again.
About 6,000 planes needed the update. For most planes, it was a simple software update. But for almost 900 older planes, workers had to change the computers completely. This took the older planes out of service for a longer time.
The updates caused some flight cancellations and delays for airlines like Air France and EasyJet. The boss of Airbus said sorry for the trouble. However, officials said the update process went well overall. They said this fix shows that flying is very safe because problems are found and fixed quickly.
