The attack was near Palmyra in Syria. ISIS militants attacked there. Some American soldiers died. The Defence Secretary said it was "vengeance." US Central Command warned ISIS. They said they will find and kill them if they hurt soldiers.

Many planes attacked on Saturday. Over 20 planes were used. This included fighter jets and drones. Allied forces also helped. Jordanian jets joined the attack. This shows they are together against ISIS.

Operation Hawkeye Strike is still happening. Before Saturday, there was another attack. It hit ISIS buildings and weapons. US forces also stopped ISIS fighters. These actions stop ISIS and hurt their leaders.
