A very strong storm, called Adel, hit Cyprus over the weekend. The weather service told everyone to be careful. The storm brought very heavy rain, hail, and strong winds to the island.
The storm started over the Aegean Sea and then moved towards Cyprus. The weather department watched the storm and gave a yellow weather warning. The bad weather began in the west and north on Saturday night and then moved across the whole island.
The worst weather was from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon. There was a lot of rain very quickly, which caused some flooding. In some places, there was hail. The air was also very dusty, which made the sky look orange.
The strong winds made the sea very rough, especially in the west and north. On land, there was a problem on a road in Limassol. Heavy rain caused rocks to fall onto the road, so the police told drivers to avoid the area or be very careful.
Temperatures became much cooler because of the storm. The storm was mostly over by Sunday evening, but some rain continued on Monday and Tuesday.
