Very heavy rain has caused serious floods and landslides in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. The bad weather killed more than 350 people. It is very hard for rescue teams to help because the weather is still bad and roads are damaged. This is the worst flooding in the area for ten years. Many thousands of people had to leave their homes.
In Indonesia, the island of Sumatra had the most problems. More than 200 people died there. Rescue teams cannot reach some places because the roads are blocked by water and mud. In Thailand, 162 people died. The water was three meters deep in some places. Hospitals were full, so they used special trucks to store dead bodies. The floods affected millions of people in Thailand.
The heavy rain happened because of a storm. The rain was too much for the land and rivers. Now, the countries must clean up and help all the people who lost their homes.
