A big fire happened at Le Constellation ski bar. It is in Crans-Montana. This is a town for skiing.
Sadly, 40 people died. Also, 116 people were hurt. This is very sad for everyone.
The fire showed rules were not followed. Police are looking at the fire. Sparklers might be the reason.
People are worried about safety. Le Constellation was not checked for a long time. This is not good. Rules say checks must happen each year.
The Mayor, Nicolas Feraud, said they are sorry. He said they will help. He does not know why checks were missed.
Sparklers touched the ceiling. The fire grew very fast. Now, sparklers are not allowed in public places. All places in Crans-Montana will be checked.
There were not enough people for checks. Five people checked many buildings. This was too much work. Families want to know what happened.
Police are investigating the fire. They will see what went wrong. Safety rules must be better.
