Cyprus Athletes Get Olympic Help

Seven athletes from Cyprus got special Olympic money. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) gave them this help. It shows they believe in sports in Cyprus. These athletes will train for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The money will help them get ready. This is part of the IOC's plan.

Elena Koulichenko is a high jumper. She broke old records. She did well at the Paris Olympics. She is a good chance for a medal.

Sprinter Olivia Fotopoulou also got help. She has the fastest 100 metres record. She also has a silver medal. Her sister, Filippa Fotopoulou, is a long jumper. She did well at big games.

Other athletes are Valentina Savva and Styliana Ioannidou. Valentina is a hammer thrower. Styliana is a high jumper.

Male athletes are also strong. Iosif Kesidis is a hammer thrower. He won gold medals. Petros Michailidis throws the shot put. He did his best this year.

The Cyprus Olympic Committee helped pick them. The money is for training and travel. It also gives good advice. These athletes show Cyprus is good at sports.
