Larnaca city centre is changing. Restaurants are busy. Shops are not as busy. This is because of big building work. The streets are different now. It is hard for some shops.
Last year, many things changed. Two big projects are happening. People walk differently now. It is harder to go to shops. The head of shopkeepers said, "Fewer people come to shops." He thinks building work is the reason.
But restaurants are doing well. This is in Ermou Square. It is also good on Zinonos Kitieos street. City projects helped these places. Festivals brought more people. New paths and tables outside helped too. This brought more customers to cafes.
Work on Ermou Street is done. This is good for shops. It is easier to walk now. Some empty shops may get new businesses. This is a good sign. But some places still have problems.
Shopkeepers want people to visit. They will have one event each month. This will start in 2026. They hope this will bring shoppers back.
More building work will happen. It will finish by autumn 2026. Shopkeepers hope things will be better then. They will work hard.
