Cyprus has a big water problem. The main dams are almost empty. It is the end of the year.
December had some rain. But it was not enough for the dams. The water department says there is not enough water.
On December 29th, dams had only 9.2% of water. This is not much. The rain did not help a lot.
Only a little water came into dams in December. This is one of the worst Decembers since 2015. Last year, much more water came.
Rain went to the sea. It did not fill the dams. The weather did not bring enough rain. Mountains did not get snow.
Low water is bad for drinking and farming. The water department wants more rain. They need rain and snow. Cyprus must use water with care.
