Cyprus Leaders Support Israel, Groups Disagree

Two presidents in Cyprus support Israel. President Nikos Christodoulides and President Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Israel. They met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They said Israel has a right to defend itself.

But some groups in Cyprus do not agree. They think the presidents' words are wrong. They say it goes against world rules. They also say it forgets problems in Gaza. Many people are suffering there.

The groups say the leaders unfairly help Israel. They think Israel's actions are like genocide. They believe Israel's fighting is not fair self-defence. World rules say self-defence must be needed and fair.

A court said Israel's control of land is illegal. The groups also say Israel still controls Gaza. They think Gaza has been taken unfairly for a long time. Many groups around the world agree.

The groups said Israel's actions in Gaza are too much. They think it is not a fair answer to attacks on October 7th. The UN leader also said many people are dying. He said it is very sad.
