Cyprus Votes for New Teacher Plan

Cyprus parliament has a new plan. It is for checking teachers. The government says this is good. It will make schools better. The new rules for schools passed. This happened after long talks. The plan will start soon.

Many people talked about this plan. 29 people voted yes. 18 people voted no. Some small changes also passed. 29 representatives voted for them. 17 voted against them. Principals will not decide alone. They must talk to another person first.

President Nikos Christodoulides likes the plan. He says it will help teachers. He thinks it will make teaching better. Students will learn more. The Education Minister Athena Michaelidou agrees. She will help teachers. She knows teachers work hard.

This change is needed. It will make schools modern. It is good for the future. People wanted changes. They think the new plan is good. It will help teachers get better. It will make checks clear. This will help all schools.

But some teacher groups are not happy. POED is one group. POED has worries. They say teachers did not agree. They worry about unclear rules. They are worried about principals. The government thinks this is a big win. They think it will change schools a lot.
