Young People Protest in Morocco

Young people in Morocco wanted better schools and hospitals. But now, many young people are arrested. Some are very young, under 18 years old. Human rights groups are sad about this. They think the government is not fair.

The protests began in September and October. Young people wanted good public services. But the government used force. Some protesters said police hurt them. One mother said her son lost teeth.

On October 1st, things were bad. In Lqliâa, a protest became violent. Police shot at people. Three people died. Fourteen people were hurt by bullets. This made rights groups more worried.

Groups like AMDH and Amnesty International are looking at this. They say female protesters were insulted. Many people are in court now. Some get long prison time.

Some people did not have lawyers. It is hard to know if the government looked into the abuse claims. One 18-year-old is in jail for two months.

The government says they kept order. But many people say the government was too strong. This is bad for Morocco's name. The future for the arrested young people is not clear. People want the truth to come out.
