Cyprus Migration Changes

Cyprus has seen big changes. Fewer people are coming to the island. More people are going back home. This happened from 2022 to 2025.

The police in Cyprus worked with Frontex. Frontex is an EU agency. They helped people go home. In 2022, 7,500 people returned. In 2023, over 9,600 returned. Last year, more than 10,000 returned. This year, over 11,500 will return.

Fewer people are arriving without papers. In 2022, 17,000 arrived. In 2023, 11,000 arrived. Last year, only 6,100 arrived. This year, 2,400 will arrive. Border security is better now.

Other countries are more stable. Syria and Lebanon are more stable. So, fewer people travel to Cyprus.

Frontex helps many people return. This shows EU help is good.
