Cyprus has new numbers about public jobs. The numbers went up this year. But they went down in the last three months. This is from the third part of 2025.
More people worked for the government this year. There are now 74,431 public workers. Most of them work in the General Government. This is like the main government and local towns.
The public sector got 1,294 new jobs this year. The main government hired more people. Local towns also hired more people. Some towns hired many more.
But in the last three months, jobs went down. The public sector lost 2,883 jobs. This was a big drop. The main government lost jobs. This was because of fewer temporary teachers.
So, the public sector grew this year. But it got smaller in the last three months. This is interesting news.
