Venezuela Stops Six Foreign Airlines

The government of Venezuela has stopped six international airlines from flying into the country. The airlines are Iberia, TAP Portugal, Gol, Latam, Avianca, and Turkish Airlines. They can no longer use the main airport in the capital city, Caracas.

The government said the airlines were helping the United States with "state terrorism." This happened because the airlines stopped their flights to Venezuela. They stopped after the United States warned that it was not safe to fly there. Venezuela gave the airlines 48 hours to start flying again, but they did not.

At the same time, the United States sent many military ships and soldiers to the area. The US says it is stopping drug ships, but some people think there is another reason.

Other countries are angry about Venezuela's decision. Portugal said the ban was "totally disproportionate." The airlines want to fly to Venezuela again, but only when it is safe.

Now, it is very difficult for people to travel to Venezuela. Only a few other airlines are still flying there.
