Marios Menelaou Is Free of Charges

Marios Menelaou is not in trouble anymore. He was the boss at DEFA in Cyprus. Charges were against him. These were about a fight with a worker. A court made this decision. The state did not want to start this case.

Mr. Menelaou was accused of hurting someone. He was also accused of making threats. A worker said Mr. Menelaou hit him. This happened in an office in 2022. The main prosecutor did not start the case. The worker then started his own case.

The judge said proof must be very clear. The court did not have enough proof. The judge did not believe the worker. His stories were very different. The judge also thought his story was odd. He said Mr. Menelaou played with the air conditioner.

The court listened to Mr. Menelaou. His story was clear. The court believed him. It looked like he defended himself. The worker stood in his way. He also came too near to Mr. Menelaou.

The court also thought about why the case began. The worker might have been mad. He did not win a later contest. The court thinks the case was for revenge. It was to fix work problems.

This is important for both men. Mr. Menelaou is now free. The worker's story is not believed. This shows it is hard to prove guilt. It also shows how private cases can start. Work problems can become court cases.
