Cyprus Votes for New Drug Help

Cyprus Parliament made a new choice. They voted to help people with drug problems now. This is a big change. The government will help people get support. Drug addiction is a health problem. It is not just a crime. Many politicians agreed. They want to be kind.

Two MPs, Kyriakos Hatzigiannis and Rita Superman, had this idea. They worried about old ways. Some said old rules made people feel bad. It was hard to get help. Parents had trouble helping their children.

Many MPs talked. They said we need to act now. Zacharias Koulias and Irini Charalambidou agreed. They spoke of the sadness drug problems bring. Some said the government made promises. They did not give help.

Kyriakos Hatzigiannis said the country needs real actions. Rita Superman said Parliament is sending a message. Drug users need help and support. They should not be punished. This is a new way.

The new choice will change laws. Some laws made parents speak against their children. This was to get help. The new plan will change this. It will protect families. People can ask for help without fear. This will help many people.
