More Flu Expected For Christmas

Health workers in Cyprus are ready for more flu. This is expected during Christmas. Flu is growing on the island. It is also growing in other parts of Europe. Doctors say a flu shot is best.

Flu is now the most common sickness. One in five sick people have flu. This is like the United Kingdom. Hospitals watch sick people.

Professor Constantinos Tsioutis is an expert. He said Cyprus is not at its highest flu yet. This is like last year. He said it is still good to get a shot.

Other sicknesses are here too. RSV can be bad for babies and old people. It is not as common now. A shot for RSV is good for old people and pregnant women. Young children can get special help. COVID-19 is low.

Cold weather and parties will make things hard. Europe sees more flu. This can make hospitals busy. Doctors also see more stomach bugs.

Getting a shot fast is important. People need to know about this. This will help protect everyone. Hospitals are getting ready too. We will see how strong the health system is.
