Australia's New Social Media Law Challenged

Australia has a new law. It stops kids under 16 from making social media accounts. Reddit is challenging this law. This is the second challenge. Two young people also sued. The government wants to keep kids safe online.

Ten social media companies must check ages. This is to stop young Australians using sites. The government says the law is important. It will protect children from bad things. Minister Anika Wells says it helps mental health. Other countries are making similar rules.
