EU Watches Cyprus Airports Closely

The European Commission is watching Cyprus closely. They sent an order. It is to fix security problems at two airports. Cyprus did not follow EU rules. The Commission also asks about airport managers.

This is a serious EU step. It helps countries follow EU laws. An EU check in 2020 found problems. The EU sent a warning last year. Cyprus did not make enough changes. So, the EU took stronger action.

Problems are at Larnaca and Paphos airports. Many tourists use these airports. The EU says Cyprus did not check managers. Plans for airport work are not good. The EU also thinks the aviation department needs more skilled people.

Cyprus has two months for a plan. They must show how they will fix things. If the EU is not happy, the case goes to court. Cyprus could pay big fines. Security is very important now.
