EU Checks Google AI Search

The European Commission is looking at Google. It wants to know about Google's AI for search. Google has a new AI feature. It gives quick answers. The EU will check if this is fair. They want to see if Google uses other people's work.

The EU also looks at online business. They worry Google might use data wrongly. They also worry Google could be too strong. Investigators are checking if Google used website and YouTube content. This might be without asking or paying. The AI answers can send fewer people to other sites.

People who make content are worried. They say the AI answers questions. So, fewer people visit their websites. They get less money from ads. Since the AI started, fewer people come from Google. This is bad for their work.

Google wants to help. A Google person said, "Europeans should have good new tech." They also said, "We will work with others in the AI time." They think the investigation might "stop new ideas." They think the market is very open now.

This check is for a new EU law. This law helps big online companies. Fair business and good data use are important. This might change how Google uses data for AI. It could also make new rules for paying for content.
