This week, two places in Cyprus have big problems with water. The problems are different, but both are difficult for the people who live there.
In the south, people in Kolossi, near Limassol, will not have water for one day. The water will be off on Friday, 12 December. This is because workers are fixing the old water pipes. The government says this work is important for better water in the future.
In the north, in a place called Kanlıköy, there is too much water. Very heavy rain caused a stream to flood. Emergency teams are working day and night because of the flood risk. They told people to call them if they are in danger.
These two events show the water problems in Cyprus. One area needs to fix old systems. The other area must fight sudden floods from bad weather. Both situations mean people must be prepared, and the island needs to invest in its water systems for the future.
