Northern Cyprus has a new law. It helps the environment. Shops cannot give thin plastic bags from January 1st. These bags make much pollution.
A man named Fikri Ataoglu said the rules are ready. He said tiny plastic bits are a big problem. These bits hurt nature. The thin bags break easily.
This is the second part of a plan. First, they stopped plastic forks and plates. Shops also charged money for other plastic items. Some shops were not happy. But big coffee shops used paper straws.
The government tells people about the new law. People can get ready. The goal is to use less plastic. We want a cleaner world. Only thin bags are banned. Stronger bags can be used again.
Northern Cyprus is an island. Plastic is bad for the sea. This law will help nature. People need to use cloth bags for shopping.
