A big storm called Byron came to Cyprus last weekend. It rained a lot on the island. The rain was good for water. But it also made floods, especially in Paphos. The storm was strong from Friday to Monday. The government gave a yellow warning.
The rain helped Cyprus after a dry time. It added water to the big water places. This is the most water this year. The water is good for farmers and nature. A waterfall started to flow again.
But the rain also made problems. Polis Chrysochous had big floods. Water went into houses. A main road closed. Workers cleaned the roads.
The mayor of Polis Chrysochous said things are better. Teams worked hard. But they are still working.
Dirty water went into the sea. This could hurt sea animals. The yellow warning stayed for some days. More rain and wind were coming.
Storm Byron gave water. But it also showed Cyprus needs to be ready for bad weather.
