Problems in the Middle East are making fuel prices go up. People are worried about getting enough fuel. So, Japan and New Zealand are helping.
Japan gets much of its oil from the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is a key sea route. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said peace there is important. Japan is releasing 80 million barrels of oil. This oil can last Japan about 45 days. The government is also giving money for gasoline. This helped lower prices.
New Zealand also has high petrol costs. The government cannot control world oil prices. But, it will help families. Starting April 1st, some families get NZ$50 each week. This money is for families with children. It helps with the cost of petrol.
Some people in New Zealand are not happy. They say the help is not enough. Some people bought a lot of petrol quickly. This caused shortages at some stations. The Middle East conflict causes high fuel prices. This affects the whole world.
