US Navy Denies 'Kill Them All' Order

A top US Navy officer spoke to Congress on Thursday. He strongly denied a bad report about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The report said Hegseth ordered troops to "kill them all" during an operation last month. Admiral Frank Bradley said that order was never given.

The operation happened on September 2nd in the Caribbean Sea. US forces attacked a boat suspected of drug smuggling. Eleven people on the boat died. Two of them were survivors from the first attack.

Some lawmakers were worried after a news story. They asked for a special meeting. At the meeting, they watched video of the operation and listened to Admiral Bradley.

After the meeting, some lawmakers felt better. A Republican senator said the admiral was very clear. But other lawmakers, mostly Democrats, were still very concerned. One called it very troubling.

The White House says the operation was legal. But critics want a bigger investigation and for the video to be made public. They question the rules for these kinds of attacks.
