Prices Go Up: Government Will Help

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis, spoke clearly. The government will stop unfair price increases. Prices are going up now. Problems far away and here make it worse. The government will meet soon. They will talk about this big problem. It makes it hard for people to pay. Life is already costly.

The President spoke on Saturday. He was in Limassol. He said the government will watch prices. They will also watch for bad actions. "We will not let people make too much money," he said. "We will protect people." He wants to stop financial problems for everyone. "We see everything," he said.

Many things make prices rise. Fighting in the Middle East is one reason. This can hurt Cyprus's money. Energy and visitors are important. Prices may rise more. This will make life cost more. A sickness in cows also hurts food.

These things happen when the economy is weak. Cyprus buys much energy from other places. But the government has help. Some food has no tax. They also help with electricity bills. These help people now. The meeting will look at this help. They may find new ways to help.
