The European Commission has a new plan to help Ukraine. They want to use money from frozen Russian assets. The plan could give Ukraine up to 90 billion euros. This money would help pay for the country's needs from 2026.
The idea is to make Russia pay more for the war. The European Commission President said this could also make Russia want to talk about peace. The money is in places like Belgium, France, and Germany. It was frozen after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.
But all 27 EU countries must agree to the plan. Belgium has some worries about the idea. Other countries are showing support too. The leader of Cyprus visited Ukraine. He said Cyprus will focus on helping Ukraine when it leads the EU in 2026.
This plan is a big step. It moves from short-term help to long-term support for Ukraine.
