The United States and South Africa have a big new problem. Former US President Donald Trump said he will stop South Africa from going to the next G20 meeting. The G20 is a meeting for leaders from 20 important countries. The next meeting will be in the USA in 2026.
Trump said South Africa cannot come because of two reasons. First, he said South Africa has very bad human rights problems. He also talked about "white genocide," but big news companies say this is not true. Second, he said South Africa did not give the G20 leadership to the US correctly.
South African leaders say this is wrong. President Cyril Ramaphosa said Trump's words are "regrettable" and based on wrong information. A spokesperson explained that they did give the leadership to a US official. But this happened at a government office, not at the big ceremony, because no important US leaders were at the meeting.
Because of this, South Africa might not get visas to go to the 2026 meeting. A South African official said if they cannot get visas, they will "have to move on." This disagreement could hurt the relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
