There, they did online scams. They were forced to do this. If they said no, they were threatened. Help groups and governments find it hard. Many people are alone. They need help.
Scam groups work the same way. People from many countries are lied to. They go to places like Cambodia and Thailand. There, they do scams online. Montse Ferrer from Amnesty International said this. She said the government in Cambodia does not help. This makes things worse.
Many people are rescued. Last year, many people were saved. More people were freed later. These rescues happen often. The COVID-19 pandemic helped these groups. Rescued people often have no money. They are homeless. They struggle to start again.
Help groups have less money. Ferrer said NGO support is not enough. This means survivors do not get all the help they need. Many people are trapped. Many survivors need help from governments. Countries like Thailand try to stop these groups. Helping freed people is still hard.
