Cyprus Meets Freed Ukrainian Prisoners

On Tuesday, parliament members in Cyprus met with Ukrainian prisoners. These men were freed from being kept by others. This meeting showed strong support. It was in Nicosia, the capital city. Cyprus supports Ukraine's freedom.

The former prisoners told hard stories. They talked about their time. Cypriot leaders said they do not like Russia's actions. They said the war must stop.

Some important Cypriot leaders were there. Haris Georgiades was one. He met Volodymyr Mykolaienko. He was the mayor of Kherson. Dmytro Khilyuk, a writer, was also there. A Ukrainian group also came. Yulia Pavliuk led them.

The meeting showed the war's bad effects on people. This is four years after Russia came into Ukraine.

The Ukrainian people gave important news. They spoke about prisoners. Mr. Mykolaienko and Mr. Khilyuk told about their pain. They talked about bad places where they were kept. Their stories showed big problems.

Mr. Georgiades said Cyprus helps Ukraine. He said it is right to help. Cyprus knows about being taken over. He said Cyprus must help Ukraine.
