Many farms in the Larnaca area have this sickness. Experts from Europe are helping now. They are killing some sick cattle. This is to stop the sickness from spreading. The sickness started on Sunday.
Six farms had the sickness first. Then three more farms got sick. The government stopped all animal travel. This is hard for farmers. One farm lost 260 cattle.
A special zone is around the sick farms. Other places are also watched. Animals in these places must stay inside. They must stay for 21 days. Experts want to find the start of the sickness.
Farmers cannot sell or move their animals. The government will pay farmers later. This will be in one or two months. The sickness is not bad for people. You can eat meat and milk from Cyprus. Farms are being cleaned. All animals are watched.
