A Very Expensive Egg Sells in London

A famous Fabergé egg sold for a very high price in London. The egg is called the "Winter Egg." It sold for about £22.9 million. This is a new world record for Fabergé.

The last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, gave this egg to his mother in 1913. It is made from rock crystal and looks like ice. It also has platinum and diamonds on it. The egg is very beautiful and important in history. The Russian Revolution happened only five years later.

An expert at Christie's auction house said the sale is very rare and important. Fabergé made fifty imperial eggs, but many were lost. This makes the "Winter Egg" very special.

The buyer's name is secret. The high price shows that people still want very special historical objects. They also show that Fabergé's name is still a symbol of great luxury and art.
