Court Says President Needs Help for Trade Taxes

The Supreme Court in America made a big choice. The Court said a past President, Donald Trump, could not add taxes on goods. He needed Congress to say yes first. This was on Friday. Six judges agreed. Three judges did not. This makes Trump's old money plans harder.

The Court said only Congress can tax things. Trump's team used a law. They said this law let them add taxes. They said it was for safety. But the Court did not think the law was strong enough. The Court also said Congress did not give clear okay.

After this, Trump said he would add more taxes. He said taxes would go up. He shared this on social media. Trump said the Court's choice was "silly." He wants to use his power more.

This choice is big for shops. It makes trade plans less sure. Shops had problems with taxes before. They also waited to spend money. This choice makes the economy more unsure.

Some groups want money back. They paid taxes already. This is about $133 billion. The Court stopped the President from taxing alone. But old taxes on cars and metal are still there. The main thing is Congress must agree on taxes.
