Cyprus Cancer Hospital Checks Computer Problem

A major cancer hospital in Cyprus found a possible computer problem this week. The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre is now checking all its systems. They say no patient was hurt by this problem.

The hospital found strange activity on Monday. They told the national cybersecurity office right away. They also asked a computer security company for help. They informed the data protection office too, because hospitals keep very private patient information.

Hospitals are often targets for hackers. Patient records have important personal details. The oncology centre has a lot of this sensitive data.

The hospital said patient care was not stopped. "We want to tell everyone that no patient was affected," a hospital person said. For safety, they added more security to their computer networks while they investigate.

The cybersecurity and data protection offices are both involved. Their investigation will show what happened. This will help the hospital and other healthcare places in Cyprus improve their computer safety.
