Cyclone Hits Madagascar, Causes Big Damage

Cyclone Gezani hit Madagascar on Tuesday. The storm was very strong. The wind was fast, about 250 km per hour.

The cyclone caused much damage. Many buildings are broken. Many homes are gone. People are sad because of this.

The storm killed at least 31 people. The city of Toamasina is in big trouble. Much of the city is destroyed.

Power is off in many places. This makes it hard to help people. Trees fell down. Houses lost their roofs.

Help groups are working with officials. They are giving aid to people. Many people lost their homes. They are now in safe places.

The storm will hurt the country's money. Toamasina is an important port. Damage there will affect trade. Madagascar needs help from other countries. People want to rebuild their homes.
