Cyprus Votes for Cleaner Environment

Lawmakers in Cyprus voted for a new law. This law will help protect the environment. They will have bigger fines for people who dump trash the wrong way. The Parliament voted for this law. Most people agree it is a good idea.

The new law is because people worry about nature. Trash can be bad for people's health. There are many places with trash illegally. These places are not good for nature or people.

The new law has bigger fines. People can pay €8,000 now. This is double the old fine. For big problems, fines can be €40,000. These bigger fines should stop illegal trash dumping.

Some lawmakers think fines are not enough. They say people must check the law. We need to make sure people follow the rules. We also need to teach people about the environment.
