Dr. Fotios Bekris led the work. Dr. Konstantina Neophytou and Dr. Stella Angeli also helped. Some tumours are very hard. This stops blood and air. So, cancer medicine does not work well. It also stops the body's help.
The scientists used three things together. First, they used a medicine called ketotifen. This medicine makes tumours soft. It also helps blood flow. Then, they used sound waves. This opens blood parts for a short time. This helps medicine get in. Last, they gave normal cancer medicine.
This makes the tumour weak. Medicine can go everywhere. Tumours got softer. Blood flow was better. Tumours got smaller.
With other good treatments, it worked very well. For breast cancer, all tumours were gone. Even cancer that had spread was gone. This means the body fought cancer more. Ketotifen, sound waves, and cancer medicine are approved. This can help patients get it soon. This new way from Cyprus is a big step.
