A young singer from Nigeria has died. Her name was Ifunanya Nwangene. She was 26 years old. She was on *The Voice Nigeria*.
Ifunanya was bitten by a snake at her home. This happened in Abuja on January 31st. She was bitten on her wrist. It was a cobra.
She asked for help by text. She was very scared. She went to the hospital fast. But there was no special medicine. This medicine is called antivenom. It could have saved her life.
Snakebites kill many people. About one person dies every five minutes. This is a big problem. Many people also get hurt for life.
Nigeria needs more antivenom. This is a neglected disease. It means it does not get enough help. Ifunanya's death is very sad. It shows we need better healthcare. We need more antivenom for everyone.
