A Sad Weekend on Cyprus Roads

This weekend, two accidents on Cyprus roads caused one death and serious injuries. The accidents started a new talk about road safety.

The first accident happened in Paphos. A 70-year-old man was walking on a busy street. A car hit him. He went to the hospital but died later. The police arrested the 48-year-old driver.

The next day, a second accident happened near Athienou. A 13-year-old boy was driving a family car on a small farm road. He lost control. The car left the road and hit some trees. The boy was badly hurt and went to the hospital. Doctors say he is now stable.

After this accident, the police arrested the boy's father. The father is the owner of the car. The police charged him because he let his son drive without a license. The father will go to court.

These accidents remind everyone to be careful on the roads. They show the big responsibility of drivers and parents.
