Hospital Problem: Two Heart Attacks

A nurses union in Cyprus has a worry. They say two people had heart attacks. This happened at Nicosia General Hospital. The union thinks bad care caused it. They say there were too many patients. Also, there were not enough nurses. This makes people unsafe.

The patients were in wrong rooms. The hospital is too full, the union says. A leader, Savvas Iakovou, said there are not enough workers. He said the health group did not hire enough good people.

The health group said the hospital is full. But they do not agree it caused the heart attacks. A person named Charalambos Charilaou said it is busy. More people are sick with flu. He thinks the union is saying too much. Heart attacks happen often, he said. 20 patients in a room is not very bad.

Money for hospitals is also a problem. The money is late. So, the health group cannot hire more workers. This would help with too few staff. One patient is still very sick.

The union wants leaders to meet now. They say it is a big problem. These events show issues in Cyprus hospitals. The union thinks it is a large problem. They want to fix it to keep people safe.
