Pope Leo XIV finished a three-day visit to Turkey on Sunday. It was his first trip outside the Vatican. Then he went to Lebanon. The Pope talked about peace because there are many wars in the world.
He chose these countries for important reasons. Turkey is trying to help with peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Lebanon is suffering from recent attacks. The Pope wanted to show he cares about the Middle East.
In Turkey, the Pope met the President. He said, "May Turkey be a source of stability." He asked for more people to support dialogue. They also had a private meeting.
On his plane, the Pope spoke to reporters. He said the Vatican supports a Palestinian state. This is a direct problem for Israel's government, which disagrees.
The Pope also talked about problems inside Turkey. He said women are very important in society and families need help. This is a big topic in Turkey now, because many women have been killed this year.
This trip shows the Pope wants to be close to areas with conflict and help with peace.
