Big Winter Storm Causes Problems

A big winter storm hit the United States and Canada. It caused many problems. Many flights were cancelled. Many people lost electricity. Roads were dangerous. The storm brought cold weather, snow, and ice. It damaged places from the south to the east. Another storm will come this weekend.

Many places had big problems. In Tennessee, over 200,000 people had no electricity. Trees fell and broke power lines. This made it hard to fix things. Roads were blocked by trees. Some people also had no heat or internet.

Flying was also hard. About 19,000 flights were cancelled or late. Many people could not travel. Sadly, the storm also caused deaths. Twelve people died in the US. Eight people died in New York City.

New York City got a lot of snow. Some places in the Northeast got even more snow. The heavy snow and ice made roads very dangerous. Many cars had accidents. Trees fell and power lines broke. More snow is coming. This will bring more problems.
