Young Tourist Found Dead on Island

A young woman from Canada died on K'Gari island. Her name was Piper James. She was 19 years old. It looks like she drowned in the water. But there were also marks from dingo bites. Her body was found on Monday. This made her family in Canada very sad.

Piper lived on K'Gari for six weeks. She worked at a place for travelers. Friends saw her on Monday morning. She said she wanted to swim. Many people swim at that beach. Other people found her body later.

The court is looking into her death. A special check of her body was done. It showed she drowned. The ocean water was strong there.

The check also found dingo bites. But the bites were not why she died. The bites came after she died. This means she saw dingos before she drowned. The bites were not the main cause. No other people were part of this.

The results help her family take Piper home. She wanted to see Australia. Traveling alone can be dangerous. This helps the court know what happened.
