A 49-year-old man will stay in jail for four days. This is after a shooting early in the morning in Mesogi village, Paphos. Police say the man fired a hunting gun outside his sister's house. No one was hurt, but there was damage to the property.
The problem started because of a family fight about property. On Friday night, the man argued with his sister's husband at a nightclub. Later, he sent a scary text message to his sister. He wrote, "I am dead. Don't look for me."
Then, very early on Saturday, police heard about gunshots. They arrived at 5:30 a.m. and found the man shouting. They found three bullet shells and a hunting rifle on a wall nearby. Police believe he wanted his brother-in-law to come outside.
The man now faces serious charges. These include having a gun illegally and scaring people. Police are still investigating. This was one of two shootings on the island in one day, so people are worried.
