Police Check Shops in Limassol

Police and other helpers did a big job in Limassol. They looked at shops from people from other countries. They found many problems with rules.

Police stopped some people. They gave big fines. They checked hair shops and food places. This was because some shops did not follow rules. Also, some people worked without papers.

The job was on Thursday. Many groups helped. They checked streets with many shops. They wanted to see if shops followed rules.

About 50 people were checked. Many hair shops had problems. Some shops were closed. Some opened too late. Some had no correct papers. Four hair shops got in trouble. One food place also had no papers.

Six people were arrested. Three were not allowed to be in Cyprus. Three others worked without papers. Also, eight workers were not on the list.

Shops paid a lot of money. They paid €26,800. Some shops also paid for tax problems. They did not give papers for money.

Police will do more checks. They want all shops to follow rules. This will help stop illegal work. It will also help with tax rules.
