Museveni Wins Uganda Election Again

Yoweri Museveni won the election. He will be president for seven more years. This was announced on Sunday. The election was hard. Some people said there was cheating. The internet was stopped. Some voices were also stopped. Mr. Museveni has led Uganda since 1986. He got 72% of the votes.

His main opponent did not agree. Bobi Wine is the other leader. He said the election was not fair. He said there were many problems. He also said some officials were taken. Machines did not work well. So, paper lists were used. The opposition thinks this helped cheat.

It was a tense time. Bobi Wine said soldiers came to his house. He posted this online. Police and soldiers stopped power. They also turned off cameras. Police said he was not arrested. But people could not visit him. Bobi Wine felt he could not speak. The government said they wanted to keep order. They stopped the internet.

There were fights. Police and supporters fought. This was in central Uganda. Police said seven people died. They shot at "bad people." But another leader said ten people died. These different numbers show a bad situation. People worry about rights.

Many groups are worried. Monitors are checking the election. The internet stop made it hard to see. Mr. Museveni will lead. But political problems are worse. People want more openness in Uganda.
