Thousands Protest Against Philippine President

Thousands of people protested in the capital of the Philippines on Sunday. They demanded that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. leave his job. It was one of the biggest protests since he became president.

The protest was mostly peaceful. People marched from a big park toward the president's home. They are angry about a big corruption problem. They say politicians took money for building projects that protect against floods. But the projects were bad or not finished.

People are also angry because two big storms recently hit the country. The storms killed more than 250 people. Protesters say the bad flood protection made the damage worse.

People carried signs and big models of crocodiles. The crocodiles represented the president and vice president. This was a symbol to say they are greedy.

A young student at the protest said it was important to fight the corruption. The president's team says the corruption claims are not true, but the protesters want a big change.
